having problem installing update in windows vista from windows updtate error # 643
Windows update fails with error code 0x643
I have downloaded the recent Microsoft updates and all but one installed successfully. The failing update was: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (KB953297);
with an error code of 0x643.
We tried several times to install it and it keeps failing. It was originally the 3rd update in the list to install. After failing the first time, it was the only one we were trying to install. We tried it after the restart required for the other updates.

2009-11-06T14:51:23+00:00 What a complete nightmare! I have wasted hours on this today, did everything I was told in the link by Augustine The Geek, but now the very last thing, reloading .net 3.5 sp1, it is failing to load! I am just so frustrated that MS have the cheek to download something to my computer that doesn't work. Although i have successfully reinstalled .net 2.0, which the failed update/fix relates to, that won't load either. What do i do now? Ran Update and it found nothing more to download.
