Running Windows 7, 32-bi,t on a Lenovo W500. Display Driver: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650. The error message (“display driver stopped responding & has recovered”) follows a system freeze, a short blackout. Then everything works fine. Hi guys, I just found this thread after searching online. I just bought a new computer and it came yesterday. HP Touchsmart Desktop and it has been happening on and off. The message i get is " Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 186.60 stopped responding..." Was wondering if any body had an answer, cuz it's a brand spanking new computer and this is happening. Much appreciate an answer from anybody. Thanks!

Ditto on the kernel crash, I'm running Win7 32 bit on a core 2 duo 2.4GHz and a Nvidia 8600GT w/ latest drivers. Quite a ____-off - no fix in sight?

im getting the same problem on a Gateway FX i7 with a 5770 video card. Only happens every once in awhile and always while browsing the web. By once in awhile i mean like once every few days so not a major problem but this computer is 2 weeks old and shouldnt have issues. Drivers are up to date and unless i got a lemon computer im pretty sure its not overheating. Ill keep checking back here for future answers because ive not found one yet!

This error can happen because of an outdated video driver, to many programs running at one time or even high CPU activity. There is a link to a KB article on the following post that gives more info on the issue and helps to fix it, see:
