Running Windows 7, 32-bi,t on a Lenovo W500. Display Driver: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650. The error message (“display driver stopped responding & has recovered”) follows a system freeze, a short blackout. Then everything works fine. My computer has been doing the same, suddenly shutting everything down then giving the "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered? error." My computer is just over a year old, and if I was not made aware of people with newer computers doing the same, then I would imagine the driver just could not work with the updated interfaces of the internet. What I do understand, is the incredibly powerful ability to find the answer lies in the hands of the amazing computer genius's out there.. we love you people so much.

i was also getting this problem and now i solved by replacing old ram woth new 1 just change your ram and check again!

SOLUTION: I just got my replacement card from Athlon Micro. I installed it and boom! It's working perfectly. I've tried everything I could to get the error message again but have gotten none. Looks like it was a hardware issue with the card.

The only answer i've found was to buy a new card although haven't received it yet so to be honest i dont know is it's the real solution.

This error can happen because of an outdated video driver, to many programs running at one time or even high CPU activity. There is a link to a KB article on the following post that gives more info on the issue and helps to fix it, see:
