“Display driver stopped responding and has recovered” error.

So I have basically just out new parts in, so it was an AMD build and now it's an i7?. Well either way the virus has been lying in wait and that's where it's come from. 

Imagine having an injury to the body like your leg for example but u can walk with a crutch and have no problems , but then u get a prosthetic leg and you run into all kinds of problems with your balance.  You understand me?  It's like your build wasn't affected with the virus until u put new parts in.

You need to format and re install widows fresh !!! And then don't just put everything back on it in one go because u will no doubt get the virus again. If u do it bit by bit then u will eventually find the program/game that has the virus attached, alternatively you can reinstall windows and keep everything fresh.

That is your only option.

Not a new build, just a couple upgrades to a high end computer because of the single DVI output.  Haven't really downloaded anything except for steam, which I will be uninstalling after this post to see if it helps, but somehow I don't think it will make a difference. 

I checked a some of the .exe files in my processes, but didn't find anything that throws up a flag.

Just wanna know did u use your old hard drive in the new build ? Especially with you saying u have an i7 and then thought it was an AMD utility program. ?

Don't panic it's not your hardware !. So don't be rushing out to get a new video card.

Your correct it may not be the same named virus but it is the same one with a different name allocated without a doubt.

It doesn't have to be attached to a game it can be attached to a program, anything that has been downloaded from the Internet that is not a legitimate program or game, because that's how people attach viruses or Trojans .

I may need you to take a screen print and attach it to an email to send to me and maybe I can fathom out what is the working process that is giving you the issue.

I suggest if it is an old hard drive that you do actually format and reinstall windows on it, it could be that the copy of windows you have may be the culprit even, if it is not a legitimate copy,  even if it has worked with your AMD build Because this virus may well only attack intel builds.

Either way it's very much trial and error but its Deffo in the startup tab in your task manager without a doubt.

U may have to go through a few things that your unsure about and stop the start up in them to find your culprit .. Speak soon .

Been having the same issue for the past 3 weeks.  Just purchased a brand new Dell XPS 8500 i7 3.9ghz with 18gb memory.  Stock card (AMD) had single DVI so I ordered a Nvidia 650ti 2gb.  I also inserted a Corsair 650wt PS into my computer which was a requirement for the card because it needed a power source.   Put the new card in and started having issues almost immediately.  I didn't remove the AMD Cat control, so I thought that might have been the issues so I removed it.  Restarted the computer and everything was good for about 12 hours.

I've been awake for the past hour and when I jumped on this morning, it happened twice in 5 minutes.  So here I am again searching google for fixes and came across this page which tells me that this has been an issue for several years.

Looked everywhere for this file you are talking about and couldn't find it anywhere.  However, it wouldn't surprise me if it's in my computer under a different name.  However, I haven't downloaded any games except for Call of Duty which is attached to my stream account.  You think it could've come from that?

Any help from anyone would be great.  I use this computer for broadcasting and need it fixed so my broadcasts aren't interupted.
