I went to do something with partition magic (it recognized something with the pointers I believe, so I allowed it to automatically fix the error) and now I'm not even able to access Partition Disk #0, Partition #1 which is a drive that I used to store data (No OS). It doesn't appear in 'My Computer', but does appear in Disk Management but it doesn't seem like I can do anything with it besides delete the partition. There's a lot of data that I have stored and I don't want to lose it all.

I used a partition tool to find out what sectors each of the partitions are starting at and for one of them it's sector 15 and the other it is sector 33. I'm not sure if that has any significance to my problem, but just thought I'd let it be known.

Error Message: "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer.

I solved this problem by going into device manager and uninstalling the usb drivers. Then when I plugged the hard drive back in it reinstalled the driver and worked.

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers Community.

Try using diskpart to assign a drive letter to Disk #0, Partition #1.

· Click Start Orb > type diskpart

· Right-click diskpart in results above > click Run as administrator

· Once diskpart loads type list volume, press enter

You should notice that you will see your partition that you use for your data, it should not show a drive letter assigned to it.

· Type select volume 6 **** (replace 6 with the volume number assigned to the partition in question)

· Type assign letter Z (replace Z with the letter that you want to assign to it)

When you look in Computer, you should be able to see your partition.

I am also facing problem that my computer HDD having C,D,E and F drive.Only C drive is visible where OS Windows 10 installed.Yesterday D and E drive hidden and now F also hidden.

I used disk management and want to change volume name but commenting as disk management console view is not up to date.

I want all my data in hard disk since all data are so much important for me.

Please any one help me.

I have solved this problem.

First of all I have tried so many DOS commands and chkdsk c:/r and d: /r and e:/r and diskpart and list volume but It is showing only C drive.My other D,E and F drive are totally hidden.I tried to change disk letter from disk management utility(diskmgmt.msc in run) and showing the same problem that disk management console view is not up to date,Used AOMEI partition assistant to change drive letter(not worked ).....Then i made bootable pen drive using universal usb installer for Hiren's boot CD 15.0 version and boot by Mini XP in one laptop and taking out harddisk and connected in external hard disk case. Again showing dump error.Then while booting by mini xp of bootable pendrive I regulary press F7 key to disable some mode and it runs.I got all my data there and can copy also from there but I used command mode cmdand check disk all drives.It takes whole day since I have so many files in my hard disk.Used mini tool partition wizard (not worked for me).

Again connected to my laptop but showing the same problem.

Finally, I installed (WindowsFixit51017.msi) FixitCenter_Runand from this I tried to change drive letter (F Drive) and it helps and auto restarts with some booting of partition.Then using the disk management(diskmgmt.msc) as below,change the drive letter and add to previous drive name and finally all works.

Feeling so happy,I did it and all data are saved.
