I went to do something with partition magic (it recognized something with the pointers I believe, so I allowed it to automatically fix the error) and now I'm not even able to access Partition Disk #0, Partition #1 which is a drive that I used to store data (No OS).  It doesn't appear in 'My Computer', but does appear in Disk Management but it doesn't seem like I can do anything with it besides delete the partition.  There's a lot of data that I have stored and I don't want to lose it all.

I used a partition tool to find out what sectors each of the partitions are starting at and for one of them it's sector 15 and the other it is sector 33.  I'm not sure if that has any significance to my problem, but just thought I'd let it be known.

I solved this problem by going into device manager and uninstalling the usb drivers. Then when I plugged the hard drive back in it reinstalled the driver and worked.

Hello trichard13,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers Community.

Try using diskpart to assign a drive letter to Disk #0, Partition #1.

·          Click Start Orb > type diskpart

·          Right-click diskpart in results above > click Run as administrator

·          Once diskpart loads type list volume, press enter

You should notice that you will see your partition that you use for your data, it should not show a drive letter assigned to it.

·          Type select volume 6 **** (replace 6 with the volume number assigned to the partition in question)

·          Type assign letter Z (replace Z with the letter that you want to assign to it)

When you look in Computer, you should be able to see your partition.

Hope this helps

after days struggle with my new external HDD Touro 1 tb doesn't appear in disk management, diskpart list volumes, or my computer at all. Only appear in device manager under ""other device".

And error message after plug in my toshiba C650 laptop is "no driver found"

i pluged in another computer and all appear fine, i went thru all solutions possible i found in google such as Diskpart, change drive letter , format, delete volumes, create new simple volumes, (error message "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date.  Refresh the view by using the refresh task.  If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer. ) Then i tried AOMEI, Mini tool partition wizard Technician edition, mini tool partition wizard home edition, update BIOS, chipset, windows etc  and a lot of soluntion............................................................ NO LUCK

    I then try this:

    1. plug HDD into another computer, let it install driver and auto play windows all appear. then i went to C

    C:\windows\system 32\

then i copied 3 folders: driverstore, DRVSTORE, and drivers.

    into usb stick.

then i copied these 3 into my toshiba laptop.(rename 3 folders so doesnt duplicate drivers1 for example)

    C:\windows\system 32\

    1. Device manager-other device-right click-update driver-choose Browse my compute for driver software, browse into

C:\windows\system 32\ the enter let it find driver. and install

Then my Touro appear in Disk drives in Device manager  Yayyy

BUT STILL NOT APPEAR IN MY COMPUTER

Then i go to other device, right click on unknown device, choose update driver, browse to

    C:\windows\system 32\ again,

    let it install

after that it appear in my computer.

    Yayyyy

thats how it happen, i am not sure one of the solution above has fix my problem. I did use Mini tool partition wizard Technician edition to change letter of my drive.

but it suddenly works, iam over the moon.

Pls try as your own risk.
