Get CARDFILE.EXE running under windows 7/XP Compatibility?

You can associate all CRD files with cardfile.exe. Then make a shortcut to any of your CRD files and the shortcut will auto-launch cardfile.exe and open your clicked CRD file in it.

How do you associate CRD files with cardfile.exe? Easy. Right click any of your CRD files, select Properties. On the General tab, there is an item labeled: "Opens with:". There is a "CHANGE" button to the right of that which, when clicked, takes you to a list of applications from which you can choose. You can have your system open CRD files with whatever application you choose but CRD files are native to cardfile.exe so that would be your best choice.

No help,  In the 64 bit version of Windows 7 the CardFile.exe will NOT run.  It's fine in the 32 bit version.  Your answer did not address the true problem.  There is a  Shareware program that will import .crd data and display it.  Look up "Azz Cardfile".  You can run it in a trial version and be prompted to buy it, but at least you can see your data, and copy/export it.

I just ran into the same problem trying to run 16 bit Cardfile.exe in Win 7 64 bit using XP compatibility.  It won't work!

Some earlier responses in this list mentioned a website  internetvail.com/files  had a 32 bit version of Cardfile.exe that could be downloaded and used in Windows 7.  When I clicked on the link in the response it took me to a Sign In window.  So I guess we no longer have access to the files area of that web site.

I sent an email to the contact person at the website, asking if they still had the 32 bit version of Cardfile.exe and if it would be possibe to get a copy of it.  Have to wait and see if I get any kind of response.  I'll update again here to say if there was a response to my email and whether or not the 32 bit file is still available.

Aleece the one thing you might like to do is to remember to check the box at the bottom for the Notify me when someone responds to this question.

that way you can keep that email so you will always be able to come back rather then putting it in your favorites

as too KenMcC i thanks you a few hunder times over for post about a great program like azzcarfile being i too had look for a program some what like the cardfile program that had been originally put in the windows 3.05 and they keep it in all the windows up to windows 98se and it can be found on any of the old system disk for windows and for as long as i had use it i too got to the point it was not working on my win xp so with the long time looking i too have found the azzczrfile and had been useing it and it is great program to use and i do like that it can be installed on a memory stick to be able to run it on and of your pc
