Can someone help me get CARDFILE.EXE running under windows 7/XP Compatibility?

You can associate all CRD files with cardfile.exe. Then make a shortcut to any of your CRD files and the shortcut will auto-launch cardfile.exe and open your clicked CRD file in it.

How do you associate CRD files with cardfile.exe? Easy. Right click any of your CRD files, select Properties. On the General tab, there is an item labeled: "Opens with:". There is a "CHANGE" button to the right of that which, when clicked, takes you to a list of applications from which you can choose. You can have your system open CRD files with whatever application you choose but CRD files are native to cardfile.exe so that would be your best choice.

    Hal Hosteler, I am not going to buy NT 3.51 again.  The 1 I have a CD for has Cardfile on it.  The version is a 16bit.  I used NT and all other versions of NT since the beging, in fact I was one of the first testers in Corp.  I had a Microsoft engineer on site with me for 3 months when Windows 3.5 came out and with my companies (MS engineer and myself) we had major input as to how NT was changed into 3.51.   Now the copy on Ebay may have a 32 Bit version, but I doubt it.  I have never seen a commercial 32 bit versioin of card file.   If there really is a 32 bit virsion, IMO that Microsoft should compile a working copy and Put it on the MS website for all to use.  Not Likely as AZZ Cardfie would probably sue. 

    I want to add 1 thing more.  WINDOWS 7 x64 Prof is the Finest OS I have ever used.  It took a 1 or 2 weeks before I learned how to use its and Offiece 2010  features, but WOW!  It is just great.

    Don't know what to tell you, I have Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium and the 32 bit Cardfile.exe from Windows NT Workstation 3.51 works on it just fine. If it's false information then my computer is lying to me.

    WE ARE TALKING ABOUT CARDFILE.EXE AND WINDOWS 7 HERE !!!!!

    Cardfile.exe does not work on "Windows 7 Home Premium"....and

    this is the version that most people have.

    It might work on other versions of Windows 7.... but I doubt it.

    Why do you think so many people are here (and on other sites) saying they

    cannot get Cardfile to work?  I'll tell you why.......Cardfile.exe does not work on

    most versions (if not all versions) of Windows 7.

    The 32 bit version of Cardfile is available on every copy of WindowsNT 3.5/3.51 and very definitely does work on Windows 7 64 bit. I just checked Ebay and this version of NT is still available there.
