Can someone help me get CARDFILE.EXE running under windows 7/XP Compatibility?

You can associate all CRD files with cardfile.exe. Then make a shortcut to any of your CRD files and the shortcut will auto-launch cardfile.exe and open your clicked CRD file in it.

How do you associate CRD files with cardfile.exe? Easy. Right click any of your CRD files, select Properties. On the General tab, there is an item labeled: "Opens with:". There is a "CHANGE" button to the right of that which, when clicked, takes you to a list of applications from which you can choose. You can have your system open CRD files with whatever application you choose but CRD files are native to cardfile.exe so that would be your best choice.

    I have windows XP. I recently lost a HD. I mdownloaded Cardfile 3.11, which I had on the old HD. I need someone to tell me how to change the default data file (untitled) to the new data file, which I have named Cardfile.crd

    hello Ken,

    Please forgive this very delayed response to your post about a replacement for Cardfile, but I'm usually unable to find hese forums again after I post to them.

    I appreciated very much your information about AZZ. Now I'm hunting around on old backups to see if I can find my oiginal .crd files. I think I still have the old cardfile.exe program archived in case anyone should want it.

    Thank goodness I still have my old cardfile folders. WindowsXP dropped it a long time ago and I assumed it would not work in version 7, but now I'll act on this useful information,(already voted) .

    I too am trying to run Cardfile in Windows 7 64bit version and keep getting the message of non compatibility. I tried many things, i.e., running as Administrator, allowing the system to choose the settings and all that with no success. Some people seem to be running it with no problem in both Windows versions, i.e., the 32 and 64 bit. Any further thoughts as to why I am getting this notice?
