Essentially, my PC won't recognize my GoGear Opus MP3 player (or iPod nano). However, I am using a USB mouse and keyboard at the moment with no problem. I had this same problem on this PC when I had Vista. I upgraded to 7 hoping this issue would be solved, but it is still there.

I was having the same problem with my ipods. I then, just by chance, decided to use a different cable and to my surprise, this fixed the problem. Both cables appear identical and both cables are original apple ipod cables. I was able to use both cables in my previous computer. However can only use one with my new computer running Windows 7. Hope this helps.

I had code 43 problems with my usb ports until I found a thread on MSI's website. My front panel usb ports connected to a 9 pin usb header on the motherboard. Only 8 pins are needed. If pin 9 has a black ground wire then remove it. I didnt give this fix much hope but it fixed my problems! Good luck.

I had problem while back don't remember what it was exactly. But had problem today with iphone and gearhead wireless mouse both gave code 43. Done system restore didn't fix. Run windows troubleshooter no help. while trying to fix problem I remembered had similar problem while back and found something on net about static electric buildup that needed to be discharged from computer. I am using a Compaq CQ 60-615DX notebook computer with windows 7. Anyways the directions for discharging static electricity from computer is to power off, disconnect power supply, remove battery, then hold power button down for about 300 seconds. Then replace battery, power cord ( charging cable ), power computer back on. but before doing what stated here go to device manager and uninstall any devices highlighted with a yellow exclamation point. This has been the second time I have fixed my computer this way. Whatever kind of computer you are using you may want to contact computer manufacturer for information on whether your computer builds static electricity and how to discharge it. Also have built and worked on desktop computers and had similar problems and most of the time it turned out to be cable and wire connections coming loose inside computer. A power cord that isn't making a good connection can cause software and hardware problems? Hope this post helps someone.
P.S. Just make sure all connections are tight inside and outside of computer before trying to diagnose software problems.
I think I misread the regedit instructions and removed the Upper and Lower Filters entirely. Now the computer will not boot. I have downloaded the trial of Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 Eval iso and burned a disc with it. Are there any specific instructions to follow to make sure I don't mess up my forthcoming attempt at repairing my brand new Windows 8.1 installation? Oh, the original problem I was trying to fix was my GPU was in the Device Manager but reported that Windows had stopped it because of an undefined problem.
