windows live mail unsent messages in outbox

Every time I sign off Windows Live Mail I get this message. You have unsent messages in your outbox. Do you want to send them now? It does not matter if I say yes, the message still comes back. I have checked my outbox and there are no messages pending. I am using Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Now do I get rid of this message.

    Thanks for not removing the answer.  It helped me get rid of an annoying pop up everytime I left Win Live.

    Bless you Bat-Bubba!  Old thread, very helpful.  I couldn't have said it any better!  Did away with that annoying "unsent mail" message.

    Bravo Bat Bubba.  I have been chasing help for this problem for a couple of days.  The problem originated when I misspelled the domain name in an email address.  I got the error nag repeatedly after I made the correction and sent the email successfully.  Your compact answer solved the problem.  Once I found the Outbox it was 'game over'.  I totally agree with your comment regarding the moderator.

    To try to clarify a tiny bit more... Normally, when you open Windows Live Mail, then scroll down through the different email addresses/folders to see what's "in", you do not see the "outbox". Follow the steps listed, above, by Bat-Bubba, which should, ultimately, lead you BACK to your "normal" email page. THEN you can scroll down PAST your "normal" email addresses and folders to find your "outbox", which has magically appeared, as a folder at the bottom. There you can delete, or whatever, your emails "stuck" in the outbox.
