I spent 5 hours Googling this very same problem. I spent 45 minutes in a Comcast chat room. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Comcast. I've never seen that Outbox Folder!!!!! I followed your instructions and my problem email was there!!!! Thank you, thank you. You were the ONLY person who gave these particular instructions.
windows live mail unsent messages in outbox
Every time I sign off Windows Live Mail I get this message. You have unsent messages in your outbox. Do you want to send them now? It does not matter if I say yes, the message still comes back. I have checked my outbox and there are no messages pending. I am using Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Now do I get rid of this message.

2013-01-10T09:39:29+00:00 I couldn't even get that to work on my laptop with 7. I did however find this seemingly simple solution in a UK forum.
I hope it will provide an easy fix to a most annoying issue. It listed all of the unsent messages, and I was able to delete them easily
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Outbox\

2012-09-28T06:55:54+00:00 In the Home Tab, check to Work Offline. In the View Tab, uncheck the Reading Pane. On the left hand side, scroll down to "Storage Folders" and you'll see the Outbox. Open the Outbox and delete the message.
To the moderator, who cares if the thread is old if people are still experienceing the problem and no real solution was posted. If you want no further replies, close it. Thanks for no solution to the problem, you've been a great help!
The very first post by the support engineer should have just given the simple solution and been done with the entire conversation. Just like trying to get an answer from government employees, microsoft has to give people the run-a-around and try to send you to 50 different "departments" before you finally get an answer when they could have just answered it or found out the answer in the first place. You can't tell me that someone who is an engineer for the company is not already familiar with all products, if they aren't, then they should be or should be fired.
Thmk you. To Rob C. You are a douche!

2012-09-13T20:56:53+00:00 Grant, without knowing your particular specifics I'll take a stab at trying to help as Microsoft seems to... well, they're not anwering.
You may have the "Outbox" section already opened and visible. With email open, look on the left-hand side and you'll see a pane that should start with "Quick Views" and then a list of your current email accounts you have the program to check. At the very bottom, just before the tiny words "Add email account" it should say "Outbox". Highlight that by clicking on it and you should see your problem email on the right-hand preview pane.
If this doesn't help, let me know which version you are using and send a screenshot of the program open. Please edit out anything personal before sending. You can send it to my sockpuppet account batbubba at ymail dot com.

2012-09-13T20:16:23+00:00 what do you mean by "uncheck the reading pane"? There are four options when you click on reading pane. None of them seem to bring up Outbox into Storage Folders as you say. What am I doing wrong?
I fully concur on your remarks about Microsoft and its employees. Why put Outbox in an obscure place where nobody can find it? And why can't the turkeys at MSFT just answer the question already??
