windows live mail unsent messages in outbox

The thread is not too old, if it shows how persistent difficulties are, and how worth while it is (if you have time, or desperation) to LOOK BACK through the history of questions and replies!

Even though I no longer have THAT problem, the various attempts to solve it have led me to discover more about the complexities of W. Live Mail, many of which, I think, could usefully have been kept inaccessible unless specially required, so that basic functions would be simpler.

I still come back to WLM, however, now that skirmishes have been won, largely through the good contributions of subscribers.   Thank you!

 

 

In the Home Tab, check to Work Offline. In the View Tab, uncheck the Reading Pane. On the left hand side, scroll down to "Storage Folders" and you'll see the Outbox. Open the Outbox and delete the message.

 

To the moderator, who cares if the thread is old if people are still experienceing the problem and no real solution was posted. If you want no further replies, close it. Thanks for no solution to the problem, you've been a great help!

 

The very first post by the support engineer should have just given the simple solution and been done with the entire conversation. Just like trying to get an answer from government employees, microsoft has to give people the run-a-around and try to send you to 50 different "departments" before you finally get an answer when they could have just answered it or found out the answer in the first place. You can't tell me that someone who is an engineer for the company is not already familiar with all products, if they aren't, then they should be or should be fired.

It is now Sept 23 2013 and I have just used your advice in order to delete that annoying message about an e-mail in the out box Thankyou vey much. Is this thread too old!!!

Thank you so much!  It sounds like what you suggested would work so I'll try that.  I agree 100% with you that Microsoft needs to clean up their act.  A simple answer is always the best answer.
