UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK since we've got the ball rolling here, I am editing this to better reflect what is going on. The below links are just a few out of hundreds of post you will find on the internet about this Aero Lag. Some offer workarounds and some don't. I just Googled Aero Lag and this was from the first page.

If you have the same problem, please provide:

What type of graphics card you have.
What kind of drivers are you using (Win7 preinstalled or manufacturer's drivers)
Was your version of Win7 an update or clean install.
What motherboard you have.

From the sounds of it, Microsoft is looking for a fix.

I also ask for a forum admin to make this a sticky as many people are experiencing this problem.

**Have solved my problem withAeor lag.**Reinstall Windows 7 U64 twice with new/old driver.

Replaced Gforce 8800GTX with Gforce GTX480.

Have spent many days on this problem without a solution.

But here is a very simple solution that works for me.

I removed the USB extension cablefor my CreativeHS-1200WirelessUSB Gaming Headset.

Aero lags when Iused USB extension cable and headset charging.

Without USB extension cable, everything is fine.

So it think itis a voltagedrop in the USB extension cable,causes the system to lag. ?

Hope Im doing this right...here are my specs:

AMD Phenom 9850 BE

MSI DKA790GX Platinum (Latest BIOS)

ATI Radeon 4890 (Make - Diamond) OC version with latest Windows 7 Drivers from ATI's website

SB XF-I Titanium PCI-E

Windows 7 was installed on a clean formatted hard drive fresh.

Everything has the latest drivers and whichever ones have x64 drivers they are installed, some are 32bit but thats all the manufature released

To me it's almost like theres an animation missing because you'll see the window before you close it...its full size then it like skips one size and goes to the next....if you watch some of these peoples videos on youtube you will see it... I'm not sure how Microsoft created the transition but thats what it looks like to me...I ran Vista x64 and the transitions were clean and smooth when closing...but I'm also having this issue with Window 7 Ultimate x64.

Hopefully Microsoft can find a fix and send out a Windows Update soon on this issue..

Copy and Paste the code from Vista so it works!

Just a hint....never believe what the "Geek Squad" says. They tend to do workarounds and charge you saying they fixed it. I've asked they's so called geeks questions about Hardware and software and 8/10 of them don't know what they are talking about...or get someone in the store, one of the select few that might know the solution.

OK, well I would change a few IRQ's if Windows would let me, the option is greyed out, and I see no option for it in BIOS. On another note, I think the audio, graphics, and mouse lag are tied in to each other in some way. It seems we are trying to solve each individually and not looking in a larger scale.

Now this is Vista here, but it could be worth a try. Especially for the sound card issues.
