UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK since we've got the ball rolling here, I am editing this to better reflect what is going on. The below links are just a few out of hundreds of post you will find on the internet about this Aero Lag. Some offer workarounds and some don't. I just Googled Aero Lag and this was from the first page.

If you have the same problem, please provide:

What type of graphics card you have.
What kind of drivers are you using (Win7 preinstalled or manufacturer's drivers)
Was your version of Win7 an update or clean install.
What motherboard you have.

From the sounds of it, Microsoft is looking for a fix.

I also ask for a forum admin to make this a sticky as many people are experiencing this problem.

**Have solved my problem withAeor lag.**Reinstall Windows 7 U64 twice with new/old driver.

Replaced Gforce 8800GTX with Gforce GTX480.

Have spent many days on this problem without a solution.

But here is a very simple solution that works for me.

I removed the USB extension cablefor my CreativeHS-1200WirelessUSB Gaming Headset.

Aero lags when Iused USB extension cable and headset charging.

Without USB extension cable, everything is fine.

So it think itis a voltagedrop in the USB extension cable,causes the system to lag. ?

Hmm...yeah thats a beffy system..maybe a driver issue? Is that a custom built system?? Did you build it piece by piece? One question I may ask...if you did build it did you use the Video Card Driver disk that came with the XFX card? If you did then you should probably go to Ati.com and download the latest Radeon drivers for your card. If you just let windows install drivers then your not getting true 3D performace, there drivers are as basic as can be and dont really support 3D like Aero. Give that a try if you havn't done so already. Take a harder look at your HP at work and I bet you you'll see the little qwerk were talking about when closing out a window....its present in all systems I've tested....which is about 80% of the laptops at Best Buy and Frys....

No offence taken. I have a HP Elitebook at work running win 7 perfectly. No lagging there. This is my specs at desktop computer with massive lagging:

Intel Core i7 Quad core, 2,80

XFX Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 850 mhz.

Crucial DDR3 1333 mhz 4 gb kit

It should be enough compared to my laptop at work...

What do you mean "State of the Art"....if your talking some PC from Best Buy or a Retail store like that I have some bad news for you buddy, your system isn't all cracked up to be "State of the Art". Yeah it may have 4-8GB of ram, a 1TB hard drive...and some other cool features...but where your problem lies...and most others is the graphics.... Most likly you have onboard graphics which is Intel Acceleration, or some sort of mid to low end Nvidia or ATI graphics. PC's with those mid to low end graphics tend to lag on Aero and other things....

Please post your PC specs....atleast we can narrow down weather it is your PC or whatnot....

I have a Phenom x4 9850 running at 3Ghz

4GB DDR2 PC2800

ATI Radeon 4890 oc 1GB

and the only problem I have is when closing a window, aero sorta skips a beat...which is what 99% of the other people in here are having. Yours sound more or less like a hardware limitation.....

I have no idea what you have, nor am I making fun of you....I would just like to know what kind of systems specs you have to clarify what it may or may not be.

Thank you all!

This problem is MASSIVE! I got mye "state-of-the-art" pc two days ago, and have teared my hair in frustration. Everything lags. Closing/opening, minimazing. But a lot more not mentioned in this thread. Scrolling pages on internett, moving mouse over links. It all lagged.

ITs not a soloution, but a workaround. If you have it as bad as me you would like to fix it. People in this topic complaining that we are oversensitive doesn't know what they are talking about.

I turned aero OFF, and everything works fine now. Jeeezes...thanks a lot. No more Aero for me. I thught there must be something seriouse wrong with my computer, and then it was the OS??? Seriously, i have seen reports of this over a year ago, and nothing has happened.

Well, anyhow. Thank you people for having this thread, or i would have sent the computer back to the store with a massive complain.
