UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK since we've got the ball rolling here, I am editing this to better reflect what is going on. The below links are just a few out of hundreds of post you will find on the internet about this Aero Lag. Some offer workarounds and some don't. I just Googled Aero Lag and this was from the first page.

If you have the same problem, please provide:

What type of graphics card you have.
What kind of drivers are you using (Win7 preinstalled or manufacturer's drivers)
Was your version of Win7 an update or clean install.
What motherboard you have.

From the sounds of it, Microsoft is looking for a fix.

I also ask for a forum admin to make this a sticky as many people are experiencing this problem.

**Have solved my problem withAeor lag.**Reinstall Windows 7 U64 twice with new/old driver.

Replaced Gforce 8800GTX with Gforce GTX480.

Have spent many days on this problem without a solution.

But here is a very simple solution that works for me.

I removed the USB extension cablefor my CreativeHS-1200WirelessUSB Gaming Headset.

Aero lags when Iused USB extension cable and headset charging.

Without USB extension cable, everything is fine.

So it think itis a voltagedrop in the USB extension cable,causes the system to lag. ?

Your correct...it is there, most people don't notice it, or could care less....I've tested many PC's (Best Buy, Frys, friends PC's with Win7) and they all had the lag or transition issue. I have a quad core system with 8GB ram and I have it. There is no need for system specs to be posted on here because there is no variation, all computers with Windows 7 have the same buggy issue. I am hoping Microsoft will release a fix with Service Pack 1 if not earlier for this issue. I've gotten over how annoying it is over time.

Hi folks,

just to keep this issue alive, I just bought and installed W7 64bits and the first thing I noticed was this annoying BUG: the stutter open/close windows.

And YES, this is a UNACCEPTABLE BUG, nothing to do with my hardware, which is a more than acceptable laptop with all the drivers properly installed, it is pointless to enter in details. This is a Microsoft BUG and we need RESPONSES NOW!,

What is really pathetic in those cases is that many people don't even notice the defect. I'm pretty sure it happens in all PCs.

phew, i thought i was the only one having the problem, hope they find a new fix my system is intel core2 duo 2.6ghz with 512mb nvidia gt9400. hope they find a fix soon... guys i found a temporary fix, after windows boots up, open magnifier and close it ,after which the problem seems to be gone, but appears to come back again when restarted... so u have to open magnifier every time u start windows to enjoy good effects... i've made an startup of magnifier because i can't stand aero lag...

That was awesome! For me it removed close stutters in real time (check my above post to see my specs). I've been reading through this longest ever thread so I decided to post! My post here . So if anyone finds a solution for the open stutters, answer it there please!

Hello guys. I've got exactly the same error with Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (build 7600). Here are my specs:

System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Compaq/Presario CQ61-105EE

OS Windows 7 Ultimate

CPU Intel Pentium Dual-Core

Motherboard Intel

Memory Intel

Graphics Card Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Sound Card IDT

RAM 2 GB DDRII

Got all the latest drivers from HP Support. I upgraded my Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. My drivers are especially made for Windows 7.
