I receive Aero Lag when opening and closing windows in Windows 7

If the "issue" with which you are concerned is mind bogglingly trivial then I guess the resounding answer to your question would be "yes". Glad I was able to clarify that for you. Now you can work on getting on with living and not being held hostage to the products you use in an ____-retentive kind of way.

This issue is far from trivial. It's a half-a**ed, stuck in between new style and old style window animation. It either needs to be one or the other. The most important thing is that at its worst, it MESSES UP MY WORKFLOW. Part of what I do for a living is making music. If you have many windows constantly opening and closing at a time, for instance, to edit single notes, the "snap", "lag", or whatever you want to call it can make me click the wrong window by accident and edit the wrong one because I think the window has either frozen, not closed, or is still open. In that small amount of time that it takes that window to snap, I can click and focus another window.

Since this is the case, it is a bug, and needs to be fixed. If I am sitting there just browsing around on the internet and checking my e-mail, or wasting my time on social networking sites, then, of course, it's no big deal. But I actually use my computer for a living. That being said, we need an answer from Microsoft.

It's trivial. I use Windows 7 everyday. It amounts to nothing in the microscopic and grand view of things. It doesn't bother me, and it shouldn't bother you. There, I've fixed the whole thing for you. My psychiatric consultation bill is in the mail! Maybe MS will "fix" the issue in SP1. If they do, GREAT; if they don't, GREAT!

And you have no comment about Notepad, which opens lightning fast?  Nor do you have a comment about the instantaneous opening when you disable Animate Windows?

I'm not denying you guys are seeing something - you're seeing the different way Windows 7 opens its windows vs. older kernels.  What I'm saying is that you are making a mountain out of a molehill.  It is easily negated by disabling that one checkbox.  This thread of over 100 posts is laughable based on the fact that disabling that option puts things back the way they were in Windows 2000, basically.

Look at how metrosexual you're being about what is essentially a non-starter.  You had to go FRAME BY FRAME and analyze the video to even notice a problem.  What does that tell you?

I gave up on this thread a long time ago when I realized that the people driving it had way too much time on their hands. Yes, they are correct. There is an ever so slight lag (or snap to) on opening and a slight hesitation on closing. But it's really not worth worrying about in a world where 30,000 people are being sent to a pointless war or health care reform can't get passed, etc. (well, you get my point).

What I'm REALLY writing about is the the "metrosexual" comment. What do you mean by that precisely? And, if it's what I think it is, you really need to check yourself. That kind of bigotry isn't to be tolerated on a public forum in 2009.
