It is good that this issue is getting some attention - I thought I was seeing things at first....
Let me emphasize the following:
This is a subtle issue. I consider myself an advanced power-user, and I know when an interface feels different from that of one I am used to.
Please do not confuse this issue with a simple "hardware not capable" problem.
I have been using Vista x64 for about a year now, and I upgraded to Windows 7 x64 last night.
I had tried out my Windows 7 when using Vista, in a Virtual Machine, just to see if I would like Windows 7, and I thought the "micro-lag" issue was just because I was running in a Virtual Machine.
When I formatted my system drive and installed Windows 7 last night, and started to use it, I noticed the "micro-lag" in the window animations immediately.Vista had no such lag.
My system specs:
ASUS P5Q Pro
Intel Q6600 @ 3.6ghz
8GB RAM
ATI 4850
Latest drivers, etc.
**Again, Vista x64 was smooth and perfect. Windows 7 has "micro-lag" in the window animations. This may not be an actual "lag." It may be simply a graphical draw sequence issue.**Other than that, I really enjoy using 7. A lot of the tiny problems with Vista (which I enjoyed using too) have been fixed. To me, this lag issue seems like an easy fix.
