Window Update error "WindowsUpdate_0000066A" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

Windows update is failing when attempting to install SQL Server SP3 (KB955706). I installed the service pack manually but still receive the same error from Windows update. I assumed the error would disappear when Windows Update saw that the service pack was already installed. Does anyone know how I can eliminate this error message?

try this it worked for me

 Go to control panel click PROGRAMS then PROGRAMS AND FEATURES locate MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK 4 CLIENT PROFILE double click on it a window will pop up choose REPAIR .NET FRAMEWORK 4 CLIENT PROFILE click next & foliow instrutions ,when finished try to run update again ,I tryed everything else but this realy worked.

My suggestion would be to try and empty the Software Distribution folder.

Empty the software distribution folder

1.     Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

Note On a Windows Vista-based computer, click Start, type services.msc in the Start Search box, right-click services.msc, and then click Run as administrator.

2.     In the Services (Local) pane, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Stop.

3.     Minimize the Services (local) window.

4.     Select all the contents of the Windows distribution folder, and then delete them.

Note By default, the Windows distribution folder is located in the drive:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder. In this location, drive is a placeholder for the drive where Windows is installed.

5.     Make sure that the Windows distribution folder is empty, and then maximize the Services (local) window.

6.     In the Services (Local) pane, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Start.

7.     Restart the computer, and then run Windows Update again.

Please let us know if this helps at all and if you still receive the above error message.

    I am getting the same error WindowsUpdate_0000066A" "WindowsUpdate_dt000.   I tried the suggestion in the previous post but when I double click MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORK 4 CLIENT PROFILE i get a pop up saying "An error occurred while trying to uninstall Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile. It may have already been uninstalled.  Would you like to remove Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile from the Programs and Features list?  Also, when I right click on MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORK 4 CLIENT PROFILE it only has an uninstall/change option which takes me to the same pop up.

    I have tried all these suggestions and still getting the "WindowsUpdate_0000066A" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" error. I ahve even tried just to install one at a time but still getting the same error. could anyone please give me another idea on what to do.

    The system repair function will windows 7 keys remove any updates you have previously installed that are not included on the CD.When finished, you will microsoft office 2007 keys have to download all of the updates from Microsoft Windows Update, because they are all replaced during repair.
