Windows Live Mail error: "One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure you want to send this message?"

TO fix this, go to Options and click on mail options. Go to the Compose tab and uncheck "convert pictures to photo email when sending photos" click okay,  Close WLM and restart. Problem fixed.

I'd love to tell you you're correct Robert, but it doesn't work for me.  The checkbox was already unclicked.  I've also tried re-checking it, then unchecking it and clicking 'apply' but I don't think this is going to do it either.

The problem seems to be on some (but not all) incoming messages from other people.  The picture is there in the email because you can see it.  However, if you try and forward the message, including the picture, to someone else, the picture isn't sent.

You can save the picture to a file, then re-attach it to a new mail message, but that's a faff and it doesn't appear in the text like it did originally.

The problem also seems to affect some 'signatures' that contain picture files.  You can see them but if you forward the message to someone else you get the error message that "some pictures could not be attached" and the signature pictures are missed off.  Often that's not a big deal if it's just some kind of advertising blurb, but sometimes you want the signature of the original sender to appear, so it's a nuisance when it doesn't, and you can't add a file that is missing to someone else's signature.

Have to add that I've been blown over by Microsoft's responsiveness to this User Feedback - that hasn't seen any remedial action in more than two years.  Aren't they just a smug lot?

This problem has happened to me for the first time today. Sorry Robert your solution didn't work. Come on Microsoft, can't you fix this?? It's not rocket science surely!

Please be informed that this is a know issue and currently on a working state. No ETA at the moment on when it will be resolved. Thank you for your taking your time to raise this issue to our attention.

As a workaround, Open the original email > [Right click the image] Save as in your computer > Click Forward > remove the picture with an "x" mark and replace it by copying the image from your desktop > Send.

I'd like to encourage Microsoft to continue to maintain its dog-in-the-manger attitude just a little while longer.  Seems to me the world is moving rapidly to the i-culture where you don't have to wait for ever for your machine to boot, faster really does mean faster, and stuff works together like it's advertised to work.  It won't be that much longer before this company will be reaping the benefits of its protracted apathy towards customer feedback on unsatisfactory performance.  Take Microsoft assurances at face value and you're consistently disappointed.
