send to desktop as shortcut missing

Here’s how you can restore the missing item.

 

To restore the item, follow these steps:

 

1.     Click Start , type the following path and press Enter :

C:\Users\default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

2.     Copy the file Desktop (create shortcut) from the Default user folder and place a copy in your user profile SendTo folder.

3.     The SendTo folder of your user profile can be accessed by typing shell:sendto in the Start-search box.

 

 

That should do the trick.

sendto file doesn't exist in this path, and search gives no results.

There are two ways to do it:

First:

1. Click {Start}, type the following path {C:\Users\default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo}, press {Enter}.
2. Copy the file {Desktop (create shortcut)}.
3. Click {Start}, type the following path :**{ C:\Users\User Profile (the name of the user)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo},**and Paste the file that you copied there.

Second:

1.     Start à Control Panel àFolder Options à View à Click { Show hidden files, folders and drives **}**àApply à Ok.

2.     Follow the path {C:\Users\default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo.

3.     Copy the file {Desktop (create shortcut)}.

Follow the path :{ C:\Users\User Profile (the name of the user)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo}, and Paste the file that you copied there.

4.     Start à Control Panel àFolder Options à View à Click {Don’t show hidden files, folders and drives} àApply à Ok.
