How do I disable the Windows 7 Magnifier?

How do I disable Windows 7 Magnifier all together? It have the check box unchecked for starting at startup but my mouse button still starts it. I use to use that button for something else and Windows will not let me map it to the other application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for using the Answers forum,

Give this a try:

Click on the Start button

All Programs

Accessories

Ease of Access Center

Then click on 'Make the computer easier to use' near the bottom.

Then unchecked 'Turn On Magnifier'. Hit OK and you're done.

    A til A - Followed your instructions, unchecked Turn on Magnifier, but there is NO "OK" button or "Apply".  I therefore exited and lo and behold re-opening the Ease of Access Menu and Magnifier is there checked again.  

    How do you make the instruction stick?

    Windows Key + escape kills it for the session, but how do you get rid of it permanently?

    OK this has a lot of answers! and maybe 'the answer' (to this question) is already in here, but I looked for a while, I almost started digging in dll's after failing to find an win-key handler shell extension (that's how intel do it).

    then a rare moment of logic purveyed. 

    Opened nirsoft's amazing shortcutmgr,lo and behold

    go to the shortcut (magnify.lnk) on mine it's

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools\System Tools\Accessibility\Magnify.lnk

    right-click, adjust the shortcut keys... voile!

    so simple
