How do I disable the Windows 7 Magnifier?

How do I disable Windows 7 Magnifier all together? It have the check box unchecked for starting at startup but my mouse button still starts it. I use to use that button for something else and Windows will not let me map it to the other application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for using the Answers forum,

Give this a try:

Click on the Start button

All Programs

Accessories

Ease of Access Center

Then click on 'Make the computer easier to use' near the bottom.

Then unchecked 'Turn On Magnifier'. Hit OK and you're done.

    Kevin,

    I wanted to get rid of the Magnifier and and following the directions, I succeeded .  However, two days later, the hateful Magnifier snuck back into my programs.

    Can you PLEASE help ?

    I have found that the best way is to watch this video on YouTube. It uses the correct manner to adjust your W7 system via the Control Panel. Renaming .exe modules is dangerous.

    Happened to this conversation when I also wanted to get rid off Magnifier as it sometimes just pops up. Looked through conversation and no one has asked the right question - How to disable windows keyboard shortcut for Magnifier? Seems to me that only way to really disable it is through magnify.exe permissions or renaming it. Because you can turn off Magnifier but you can't turn of windows shortcut key to start up magnifier. And if you happen to hit right combination then it always pops up again. Also using third party utility like AutoHotKey you can tweak windows hotkey behaviour.

    How do I stop these emails?  I received an email saying to click to go to the thread then click on Stop Emails.  Where is this?  There is no place on the window I was redirected to that had Stop Emails.
