How do I disable the Windows 7 Magnifier?

How do I disable Windows 7 Magnifier all together? It have the check box unchecked for starting at startup but my mouse button still starts it. I use to use that button for something else and Windows will not let me map it to the other application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for using the Answers forum,

Give this a try:

Click on the Start button

All Programs

Accessories

Ease of Access Center

Then click on 'Make the computer easier to use' near the bottom.

Then unchecked 'Turn On Magnifier'. Hit OK and you're done.

    I have a MS notebook wireless laser mouse 6000, and haven't used it for months; but, my left click button on the touch pad is sticking, so the last two days I have been using it. This blasted magnifier has popped up seven or eight times, the first two times I lost resumes I was posting online because it confused me... I had no idea. Finally I found this page, and of course, the answer marked "best" is not... as others have pointed out. I then went to "mouse" on the control panel... and there was a button identified as the "magnifier button... well, I did not see any unusual buttons, left, right, wheel... which is also a button, then after following several of the suggestions here, at my left thumb, in my right hand, there is a small button, right on the edge... So now I knew what to disable; but, more importantly, what to avoid, and how to undo it... I will keep my thumb off the button, except when I might want/needs it... and that fixes it for me. Thanks for this forum. I appreciate all the suggestions.

    10,000 people (at MS) and you all do the same thing. Give pat answers out of some guide book written decades ago perhaps.

    This answer, which your people give to everyone (everywhere), doesn't work. So, why don't you actually research it afresh!  Thank God I'm able to move slowly over to Mac equipment.

    I don't have an Outlook that works (again, noone to fix or complete that Beta program - Bill is so proud of).  It's truly amazing!  Noone cares enough to actually troubleshoot something.

    To turn the Mafnifier off

    To exit Magnifier, press the Windows logo key +Esc.
