How do I disable Windows 7 Magnifier all together? It have the check box unchecked for starting at startup but my mouse button still starts it. I use to use that button for something else and Windows will not let me map it to the other application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi wil2liv,

Thank you for using the Answers forum,

Give this a try:

Click on the Start button

All Programs

Accessories

Ease of Access Center

Then click on 'Make the computer easier to use' near the bottom.

Then unchecked 'Turn On Magnifier'. Hit OK and you're done.

Let us know if this helps,

Oh thank you thank you!  This worked for me. So simple in the end, I remember now that I did change my touch pad settings but didnt connect the zoom feature on the pad with this extremely frustrating and rage inducing magnifier!  Maybe there should have been a note about the connection in the Ease of Access so that when you uncheck Magnifier (as I did several times) it asks you to check if you've activated zoom on the pad?

Thank you again - my grandson thanks you as well as it was driving him nuts.

No, it doesn't work - as so many MS features. You cannot undo them.

I can't UNcheck it when it's not checked to begin with. Very very very annoying! Please fix this.

Having found that none of these suggestions worked and that the magnifier still appeared, apparently randomly, I opened the mouse settings in Control Panel and found that the right SIDE button, not the right button, on my Microsoft mouse had been set to open magnifier.  Disabled this button and solved my problem.
