How do I disable the Windows 7 Magnifier?

How do I disable Windows 7 Magnifier all together? It have the check box unchecked for starting at startup but my mouse button still starts it. I use to use that button for something else and Windows will not let me map it to the other application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for using the Answers forum,

Give this a try:

Click on the Start button

All Programs

Accessories

Ease of Access Center

Then click on 'Make the computer easier to use' near the bottom.

Then unchecked 'Turn On Magnifier'. Hit OK and you're done.

    Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del keys-->Start Task Manager-->Applications tab, select Magnifier-->End Task, DONE

    I was able stop magnifier from automatically launching (Via WinKey plus "+" or "-") by renaming magnifier.exe to magnifier_disabled.exe in the system32 directory.  In order to rename the file as a normal user, you will need to "Take Ownership" of the file first.  Right-click the file and go to Properties, Security (tab), Advanced (button), Owner (tab), and choose to make yourself owner.  You will then be able to change the file's permission and give yourself full control of the file.  Only after you've done all this, you will be able to rename the file.

    I literally JUST did this, so i don't know if Windows File Protection will automatically revert this file back on it's own...but for now it's working.

    This is how to fix it: go into mouse properties in control panel & go to "device settings, then "settings," then click "pinch zoom" & uncheck enable. Now it won't work from you touchpad which was creating the problem. BEWARE: this stupid thing comes back somehow & you might have to uncheck it again. I've had to do it twice now

    you should've  added  HOW  to get to - " Make My Computer Easier to See" and that is go to

    Start/All Programs/Accessories/Ease of Access/and choose either the ease of access center or magnifier

    Of course, it's just my opinion....I could be wrong!
