I have been trying to solve this for quite a few days now. Everything that is Posted out there does not work. I have Windows 7 and I tried to install Service Pack 1... it failed. Ever since then, Windows Installer cannot be accessed error 106 keeps coming
up when I try to install anything. Also, windows Media Player does not work either. I have tried everything that is posted out there for a fix. I tried the whol msiexec/unreg and msiexec/regserver I have tried the hot fix patch that is supposed to work, still
doesn't. There is no distributive pack out there for Windows Installer 5.0 so I can't download a new one. I have tried the sfc/scannow and that cannot run, it says my PC needs to restart and I have restarted again and again and still the same thing, it will
not run. I can't tell you how many other things I have tired. When I run msiexec.exe I get no errors and this screen comes up:

So I can't get anything to install and I can't get this issue resolved. Does anybody have an actual answer to this problem?
