How can I install the windows installer 5.0?

There is an error message. There is not Access to the msi service.

I'm trying to uninstall a software.

It is Truly SAD how many companies find it easier to make money by ripping people off. If you look at the recent case of of the FTC shutting down PC Cleaner, PC Vitalware or OMG Tech Help, the company stole 120 million dollars in less then 2 years from people claiming to fix their computer WOES. So truly sad that people choose to do stuff like this.  For everyone that get taken down 3 others will take it's place, which is a sad Reality.  There are a lot of GOOD Remote tech support companies out there, but they would never cold call you. We do remote support all the time we love it saves us time and clients money because we do not have to go on site. We even have clients that ship us their computers to be fixed when we cannot do it remotely, with worldwide shipping available so cheaply it works well.

I would like to share an excerpt from the Article:

"PC Cleaner Pro appears to run a system scan” that invariably detects a host of malicious or otherwise dangerous files and programs, including malware and system errors. In many instances, PC Cleaner Pro’s initial scan identifies thousands of purported problem s on a single computer. Indeed, the scan is designed to falsely identify problems on consumers’ computers, exaggerate minor issues and otherwise deceive consumers into thinking that their computers are significantly compromised [...] In addition, the free scan falsely claims that many innocuous files such as temporary files, web browser cookies, and Windows default settings are problems"

They target senior citizens mostly, which is very sad.  One day we had a client come into our store, Ray a Korean War Vet. He said he needed help so that he could get his laptop back online, after his "Friends" at iYogi were fixing his computer and made it so it could not connect anymore.

Needless to say they were not his friends, I spent about 4 days with him sitting with me in my tech room fixing his computer. We sat and watched the old show "M.A.S.H." while I fixed his computer and he told me stories of what he went through as a young man fighting the Korean war.  He told me how iYogi had been milking his Credit card for over 2 and a half years, this mad me so angry that someone would take advantage of anyone like this let alone a senior. After he saw what I did to actually fix his computer, he said I watched them every time they were in my computer and I never saw them go into any of the screen or do anything close to what you did.  I handed his computer over to him and he played on it for a bit and said "My computer has never run so fast even when it was new".  I protected it the best I could, and of course could not bring myself to charge him as I felt he had been charged more then even in the last 2 and a half years, lol If I had the money I probably would have helped him pay off his credit card.

While Ray and I were talking he informed me he had 2 adult handicapped kids, and they had very little money.  The iYogi company harassed him for another 6 months with phone calls and offers to refund some of his money if he gave them his bank account number, thank goodness he did not give it to them. When that did not work iYogi offered to refund his money VIA Western Union, they would send him $1200.00 to him, and all he had to do was send back $400.00 of it. Thank goodness he called me and I explained to him the Western Union thing is just another scam where he would end up owing Western Union the full $1200.00 dollars.  So I told him the next time they call tell them you no longer have a computer and that they could call me if they wanted to discuss it further. Needless to say they did not call anymore and stopped harassing him and his family.

The funny thing is had iYogi not taken advantage of Ray and his family, we probably never would of met Ray.  He comes into visit us at least once a week and he always talks about our business as being, "Our Store", he says "Boy we have grown in the last two years, we just gotta keep it up". Ray has become part of the Family at my store. So in a weird way I am glad iYogi techs know at least how to screw up an internet connection so they lose connection with the person they are scamming.

I am sharing this story so that you can share it with your friends and family and let them know the kind of Scams that are out there. The more people know about it and know what to do to stop the phone calls the less targets these people will have.

nice tips, nice guy....old fashioned computer ethics....hats  of...I throw in mace software..( try for free for a month) Finnish outfit...very very nice...also CCleaner.....watch you download the free version..unetbootin to build a nice bootable usb stick...there is also  newcomer...Felix or something...point is..most people want you to be successful, sure make a living...but resist ripping people of...again my respect to our Canadian cousins and thanks...( old mainframes, ****, IBMer)

I am a 25 year computer technician we have a small store in Canada, we work with weird problems and issue like this everyday. When you have been doing this as long as I have you figure you have seen it all when it comes to viruses and malware, but everyday there is something new. Remember

I am not sure if anyone is still having this problem but I have been fixing the myriad of problems that Windows has thanks to viruses/malware/hackers.

Here is the easiest solution I can give you and hopefully it will be of some help:

If fixes issues with Windows Installer and many other issues. I would also suggest that you scan your computer with more aggressive virus/malware programs.

Here are some suggestions:

www.malwarebytes.org (malwarebytes and more aggressive tools under the TOOLS menu)

ESET online scanner (eset online virus scanner, when you run it CLICK advanced settings and check all check marks but the last one, it will then download Virus definitions, once it starts scanning DISCONNECT your computer from the internet)
