I am trying to install ITunes on A Vista 32bit and get the following error microsoft.vc80.crt,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publickeytoken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorarchitecture="x86"HRESULT:0x8007054F

Thank you for replying.
Let’s browse to the location c:\windows\winsxs folder and rename the folder winsxs to winsxs.old.
Then try installing the security update and check if it helps.

As I find you need to install the security update’ Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update’ before installing iTunes on your computer.
Let’s follow these steps before you proceed with the installation of ITunes.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update
a)Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.
b)Select the program, and then click Uninstall.

Also, download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to remove all iTunes software:

Now run the utility ("Start > All programs > Windows Install Cleanup"). In the list of programs that appear in Cleanup, select any iTunes entries, and click remove. Quit out of Cleanup.
4.Reinstall all iTunes software and check if it works.

As to your Microsoft VC80 error, I am of the opinion that a reinstall of Windows is the only real fix available, I hope I am wrong and would love to be proved so.
I´m running Windows 7 Ultimate with all updates applied and I also have the same error message: policy.8.0.Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type=”win32-policy”,version=”8.0.50727.6195”,publicKeyToken=”1fc8b2b9a1e18e3b”,processorArchitecture=”x86”
I did install Visual C++ 2010 ok, uninstalled iTunes also ok. But every single attempt to install iTunes result into this error message.
Any help over here?

Have you found a problem to the Micrsoft VC80 error. I have the same problem and have tried all sorts of suggestions with no improvement. I have removed anti virus software, stopped programs running, removed all possible apple software and failed in installing service pack two which is also a problem now.
