I am trying to install ITunes on A Vista 32bit and get the following error microsoft.vc80.crt,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publickeytoken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorarchitecture="x86"HRESULT:0x8007054F

Thank you for replying.
Let’s browse to the location c:\windows\winsxs folder and rename the folder winsxs to winsxs.old.
Then try installing the security update and check if it helps.

As I find you need to install the security update’ Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update’ before installing iTunes on your computer.
Let’s follow these steps before you proceed with the installation of ITunes.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update
a)Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.
b)Select the program, and then click Uninstall.

Also, download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to remove all iTunes software:

Now run the utility ("Start > All programs > Windows Install Cleanup"). In the list of programs that appear in Cleanup, select any iTunes entries, and click remove. Quit out of Cleanup.
4.Reinstall all iTunes software and check if it works.

Tks. I did try all of these but nothing works. The Visual C++ 2010 is installed and ok. I did follow all steps of Apple support forum...nothing.
Also did try to install the most updated iTunes released today 10.5.1.42 and same problem :(
My HP netbook running Windows 7 Pro has no problem at all.
Now wondering to give up of Windows ...for good.

If you end up with an Error 1935 that usually means Windows is corrupt and a reinstall is needed.
I didn´t run any Registry Cleaner and I´ve never had this problem before. Just happens when updating iTunes to the latest version (10.5).
The catch is if I ask for support from Microsoft they will say that´s an Apple issue. The other way around Apple is going to say that´s a Windows issue.
I´m gonna downloand the process monitor that you recommend and see what happens.

I've got the exact same problem and have also tried the few solutions and none work. Started trying to fix a couple of weeks ago and still no solution.
Pretty rediculous that Microsoft can't solve this - I guarantee it will cause another bunch of people to throw their Windows 7 PCs in the trash and buy a Mac book, air, or mini.
