Windows 7 Preview Pane not working

Hi everybody,

It seems that I've some kind of problem with the PREVIEW PANE of the EXPLORER which only works for pictures and not for others type of files ( for video it only shows a pic, doesn't work for .txt, .pdf etc).

Would you know how to fix this problem ?

Here you go,

In Windows Explorer, click Organize / Folder and Search options / View Tab.

Remove the Check Mark from the Always show Icons never Thumbnails option.

Click Apply / OK.

This didn't work for me. It was already unchecked but I still can't preview the documents.

The recommended solution didn't work for me, but restoring to defaults did, for some reason. No idea if it will be a permanent solution.

This didn't help for me. I have the file associations setup as it does open the .pdf when I click on it. In the preview pane it says "No preview available". The preview worked in the past.

I have tried all the fixes mentioned in this thread and I still can't get the preview pane to display anything except an picture image
