Windows 7 Preview Pane not working

Hi everybody,

It seems that I've some kind of problem with the PREVIEW PANE of the EXPLORER which only works for pictures and not for others type of files ( for video it only shows a pic, doesn't work for .txt, .pdf etc).

Would you know how to fix this problem ?

Here you go,

In Windows Explorer, click Organize / Folder and Search options / View Tab.

Remove the Check Mark from the Always show Icons never Thumbnails option.

Click Apply / OK.

    The recommended solution didn't work for me, but restoring to defaults did, for some reason. No idea if it will be a permanent solution.

    This didn't work for me. It was already unchecked but I still can't preview the documents.

    I have never found the Microsoft Community to be of any help. I try to submit my question(s) as concise and clear as possible, but find the replies are for a problem other than the one I'm inquiring about.

    I am unsubscribing because there is an assumption on Microsoft's part that I haven't tried all the recommendations and am repeatedly told to go to the original answer - which has nothing to do with my question! The response time is terrible, talking months to even get an acknowledgement or answer. Most of all, it's the condescending attitude that pervades the interaction that implies that I am dimwitted.
