Windows 7 Preview Pane not working

Hi everybody,

It seems that I've some kind of problem with the PREVIEW PANE of the EXPLORER which only works for pictures and not for others type of files ( for video it only shows a pic, doesn't work for .txt, .pdf etc).

Would you know how to fix this problem ?

Here you go,

In Windows Explorer, click Organize / Folder and Search options / View Tab.

Remove the Check Mark from the Always show Icons never Thumbnails option.

Click Apply / OK.

    Well, I just found out the solution for my issue with PREVIEWING ANY FILE in EXPLORER's RIGHT PANE. In addtion to AnhNguyen's recommendation which is also necessary, do not forget to check the option for: SHOW CONTROLLERS FOR PREVIEW IN THE PREVIEW PANE, without that option you may be able to ony see the first page of some file or document but not the whole file or document. In addition you need this one checked in so that you can PREVIEW: DOCX, TXT, PPTX, XLSX, ... documents. The controllers for these applications must be loaded in EXPLORER's preview pan so that it will let you see the respective files or documents.

    You don't need to lose this handy functionality to fix this problem. Try this:

    In Windows Explorer, click Organize / Folder and Search options / View Tab...

    ... and then click on restore defaults.

    This worked for me.

    If you, like me, want to see hidden folders, etc, just stay in the above window and tick/untick those other boxes - is you know what you are doing and what you want to achieve.

    Had the same problem - ran a repair on Adobe and it resolved the issue!  So simple :)
