Windows Update Error Code 8024A000

Hi,

 When i try to take the updates, its throwing the error 8024A000.

Not to able get wats the reason

Help me out

The Windows Update Error Code 8024A000 means WU E AU NOSERVICE. This is translated as AU was unable to service incoming AU calls.

I would like for you to perform general Troubleshooting steps for Windows Update.

General Windows Update Troubleshooting

The following outlines how to stop services pertaining to Windows Update, rename system folders, register related DLL files, and then restart the previously mentioned services. This troubleshooting generally applies to all Windows Update related issues.

Stopping services pertaining to Windows Update

1.     Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.

2.     If you receive a notification from User Account Control simply click Continue.

3.     At the command prompt, type the following, commands and then press ENTER after each command.

net stop wuauserv         net stop bits

net stop cryptsvc

4.     Please do not close the Command Prompt window.

Renaming folders pertaining to Windows Update

1.     At the command prompt, type the following commands, and then press Enter after each command:

2.     ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 Catroot2.old

3.     ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

4.     Please do not close the Command Prompt window.

Registering DLL’s pertaining to Windows Update

1.     Please copy and paste the following text into a new Notepad document, and save the file as WindowsUpdate.BAT

2.     If saved correctly the icon will change from a Notepad file to BAT file which has two blue cogs as its icon.

            -or-

3.     You can manually type each command at the command prompt:

 Restarting services pertaining to Windows Update

1.     Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.

2.     If you receive a notification from User Account Control simply click Continue.

3.     At the command prompt, type the following, commands and then press ENTER after each command.

net start wuauserv         net start bits

net start cryptsvc

exit

4.     Now please check for updates using Windows Update to see if the issue has been resolved.

    Thank you for replying.

    It is unfortunate that the issue still persists.

    I would suggest you to run DISM tool and check.

    Windows updates and service packs may fail to install if there are corruption errors. For example, an update might not install if a system file is damaged. The DISM or System Update Readiness tool may help you to fix some Windows

    Hello again,

    Thanks for answering, I really thank you for being helping me with this issue. I browsed the link and I followed the troubleshooting steps. These messages appeared in the screen after the troubleshooting:

    • Some security settings are missing or have been changed.
    • Service registration is missing or corrupt
    • Erro 0x80070490 (2016-03-04-T-04_51_43) do Windows Update
    • Problemas ao instalar as atualizações mais recentes (Problems installing most recente updates)

    All this messages appeared with the green tick next to each of them, and it was written "Corrigido" (Solved).

    So, after this, I tried to install the updates again. However, these two codes were displayed:

    • Código (Code) 80246010
    • Código (Code) 80070002

    Could you please tell me why do this error codes appear and how to solve it, please?

    Important notes:

    After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps from section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting” to reset the computer to start as usual.

    When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed.

    Hello Ratandeep,

    I strongly thank you for your answer. I followed your steps and, at first, it seemed that the problem was solved. However, when the PC started to configure the updates, it appeared again the same old message (I'll send a picture at the end of the message, so you can have an idea of what this message is, although the language used in the message is Portuguese). It is all the time occuring error and failures in the configuration of the updates, and I'm getting tired of leaving my PC turned on the whole night for nothing. I have also already tried loads of Command Prompt commands I found in the internet regarding my code errors but none of them worked. If you want to know the codes that have already appeared in my PC, please let me know...

    I'd really appreciate your help,
