Hi, When i try to take the updates, its throwing the error 8024A000. Not to able get wats the reason Help me out

I downloaded the Intel Chipset Identification Utility at the following link: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=861 I saw that and elected not to try it. The true purpose was not clearly indicated. I only installed the Intel Rapid Technology driver on the advice of an earlier post in this thread and it solved MY issues. It is back in this thread, but here it is again:. AFTER all this stuff in this thread above, the Intel driver worked for me Please try to download a new Rapid Storage Technology Driver from this link: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng&DwnldID=15251 I used the third one STOR_allOS_9.6.0.1014_PV.exe It'd be nice if an admin would remove all but the solution posts so they are easier to find. I downloaded the Intel Chipset Identification Utility at the following link: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=861 It will not let me run it as it says that I must run it as an administrator and indicates how to do this in Windows 7 and XP. I have Windows 8 and my account is set as the administrator. Each time that I try to install updates it stops at 13%...then reboots, tries installing updates and stops at 13%...this happens three times before it reboots to the Start screen. This is extremely disappointing in that I cannot install updates to the OS. I was considering moving to a Microsoft phone and a Surface...but if Windows 8 doesn't work on my PC, why would I consider making the switch? Is there any solution other than reinstalling Windows 8 and praying that it works?

Just give it a try , its not just the processor drivers there are others as well that work in the windows environment. give it a shot and let me know.

I do not have an Intel processor. My computer has an AMD processor.

I would like for you to perform general Troubleshooting steps for Windows Update.

General Windows Update Troubleshooting

The following outlines how to stop services pertaining to Windows Update, rename system folders, register related DLL files, and then restart the previously mentioned services. This troubleshooting generally applies to all Windows Update related issues.

Stopping services pertaining to Windows Update

1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.

2. If you receive a notification from User Account Control simply click Continue.

3. At the command prompt, type the following, commands and then press ENTER after each command.

net stop wuauserv net stop bits

net stop cryptsvc

4. Please do not close the Command Prompt window.

Renaming folders pertaining to Windows Update

1. At the command prompt, type the following commands, and then press Enter after each command:

2. If saved correctly the icon will change from a Notepad file to BAT file which has two blue cogs as its icon.
