Even worse, you can actually use the chatpad with OS X. Someone wrote a driver so the Xbox 360 Controller with Chatpad works on a Mac!! Why can't we get a solution for the PC?!?!?

Fund raising is on going at mp3car.com to raise money for to reward the development of an open source driver. If nobody at Microsoft can help us, then this seems to be the next best option.

Purse as of end of August was $320 - and it looks about another $150-200 has been pledged since. Encourage you all to go over and put $25 in the kitty.

Microsoft, if you read this know that you lost money today. I am purchasing from your direct competitor (Gaming related) because you refused to make any attempt of a driver for something that has obvious potential to be used on a computer. Anyone who cannot see that is just plain short on brain mater. Sony will get my money and that makes me happy. I just recently started looking for a controller with an attached keyboard. I just found out that this situation is 3 + years brewing without resolution or even an attempt. You can't even open up for 3rd party software to make the drivers.

You just lost my confidence in Games for Windows / Microsoft hardware for games / you ability to see potential in your own products.

You "had" the best game-pad controller. Just like you had the best mobile OS for the longest time. Seems to be a habit developing problem of neglecting your customers and software/hardware. Good to know. Maybe I'll buy an Android phone after all since you will just let this next bit of code called Windows Mobile fail also.

Did you hear? Apple is the most valuable technology company now. You even lost that throne to a loser company like Apple that forces people to do it their way or not at all. You are the better company. Now start proving it to your customers again. You made a great start with Windows 7. Now do it again with Windows Mobile. You can find a single code writer and tell him to work on this chatpad driver also. You have plenty of people.

You want people to think Windows is a gaming platform worthy of all that hype you keep spilling, then make it true and give us some damn drivers for something that is obviously game related and in your best interest.

You already lost me. Hopefully, you can safe the next person who is looking.

First, has anyone written a driver for anything? I think that would be a great start. I think that @Madrang made a great start with getting thebyte flags. Actually, if anyone has information on writing drivers, please post info.

I primarily want to use it for a MMO so that I don't have to have my keyboard in my lap just to get things done. Chatting is essential in the game and the extra keys would be great for macros.

If anyone is interested in adding XBox 360 chatpad support to there XNA Game Studio games for Windows or Xbox 360, it is actually very simple, here is a blog post about it. http://hexdollgames.co.cc/?p=40#comment-7

XNA Game Studio 3.1 is a library for C# to create Windows, Zune, or Xbox games. It is not as you state to make games for Xbox on Windows, that is just one of three options. In the upcoming XNA Game Studio 4 it will be for Windows, Xbox and Windows Phone 4. There is no annual subscription. It is completely free. The only thing you would need to pay for is if you want to market your game for the Xbox, then it would cost you money depending if you went monthly, or annual. It is not always helpful to give inaccurate information. A Game such as Dishwasher the Dead Samurai was made in XNA Game Studio, a very popular and well made game. Please at least do a little research before stating 'facts'. Thank you.

Cool story bro.  Thanks for making an account just to give us this 'useful', off topic post.  This thread is about a driver for the chatpad.  XNA is only mentioned at all because this is the only work around. But besides that, The XNA studio may be free, but to run the required code on the xbox360 requires a PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP, which is not free.  I believe you should do a little MORE research before posting. start here- http://creators.xna.com/en-US/membership

read the part about creating games for 360...or simply google "XNA run on xbox" should be the first result.. "four-month Premium membership (49 in US Dollars) or annual (99 in US Dollars) membership."

    Thank you
