I got this as a gift. It came without a software disk. After emailing customer support I got a link to the the following software:

I downloaded this software. It brings up the software images on my screen ... I can enter my home location in the software ... but the software never connects to the internet ... so I star all over again. The installation and troubleshooting guide for this software can be found at:

If you are running AVG antivirus, it stops the complete install of the software on your PC. I disabled AVG for 10 minutes,reinstalled (repaired) the software installation by running the install again and I was able to save my location finally.

The next question is do you have to disable the antivirus (or create a rule) to get the system to update the temp settings?

You have to disable AVG inorder for the software to grab updated weather info. I uninstalled AVG and I am giving MS Essential a test run.
I got one for xmas as well and installed it on a Windows 7 the next day. Software installed OK (V1.01 on CD) and the initial update and transmit worked. Now several days later, I realized the forecast is not updating at all, supposed to update every 6 hours. Just went back to the s/w and opened the 5-day forecast to find no data displayed. Although it has remembered by home location, just no data unless I select the manual forecast update button. The documentation does not mention support for Windows 7, so I suspect that I may need updated drivers from the internet. Sounds easy enough, but there are no links for downloads on the listed SI websites. About ready to return this, but I think it would be a nice gadget if I can get it to work.

I'm using software version 1.02 (from packaged CD), Windows 7 Ultimate x86.
I tried to find updated drivers online but I couldn't find anything. Assuming by this thread... I seem to have the most updated version of the software. If anyone knows the exact URL location of checking for software updates please let me know.
I also purchased this (ebay) and it came with a CD which states it is v1.01, but shows it as v1.02 in the home location gui One of the first things I noticed is that the pc gui shows "humitiy" Wouldn't you think that a software company would utilize spell-check and know that humidity is what peeps want? An easy error, but it sure looks bad on the quality measure. It would be so easy for them to fix this in a software update. Like the last poster, I have been unable to find any updates or site for such.
