Can you help trouble shoot Sharper Image Internet Weather Station EC-WS115?

I got this as a gift. It came without a software disk. After emailing customer support I got a link to the the following software:

I downloaded this software.  It brings up the software images on my screen ... I can enter my home location in the software ... but the software never connects to the internet ... so I star all over again.  The installation and troubleshooting guide for this software can be found at:

This gadget is supposedly compatible with Windows 7.  I am running Windows 7 Pro on my HP Computer.

    1. I had the same problem where I was not getting data ...I thought it was something else.
    2. I got a new computer and re-installed the software today and I am getting Internet data fine.
    3. When I click send to receiver nothing happens....
    4. I look on the receiver and my "T" transmitter Icon is blinking trying to connect with the USB transmitter ,,,  but no connection
    5. I have unplugged the receiver and transmitter and waited for 30 minutes with batteries removed ... even tried to push the reset button under the battery cover of the transmitter ... but the receiver is still blinking the reception icon (meaning ... that there is no connection with transmitter.

    How do I get the receiver and USB transmitter talking to each other again ??  They have the same code on the bottom of the units ... so they should talk to each other.

    Any ideas appreciated

    Mine has been working just fine for some reason I do have to unplug and replug the transmitter into the computer once in awhile  and the only way the receiver keeps updated is I log on to 5-day forecast on my computer and update it then hit send to receiver and it updates  Hope this helped a little

    I was having same problem.. Win8 64Bit,

    Installed correctly and update problem.  Unplugging USB sender,, setting usb, battery, reset button each time upon boot up, once in a while it worked. Even  Setup receive  button on the display.

     My problem was setup the  profile City1, City2, City3, City4 correctly.   program setting .

     Thanks updated immediately. Working fine.

    Well - I'm back!  I see my original notices from back in 2012!  Low and behold I'm having the same issue.  No problems with PC communication with display unit.  I have had no weather updates since April 8th.  Have manualy updated and software indicates updated info at the time I requested but no change in weather data since April 8th date.  Somebody not minding the store at the server again?  Anyone out there seeing this?
