Can you help trouble shoot Sharper Image Internet Weather Station EC-WS115?

I had this working with XP, but never with Windows7.

I have tried eveything from running as an Administrator, running in compatibility mode XP, and running in XP Mode.  I couldn't ever get the USB device passed into the VM on XP mode.

anybody ever get this working? I have the CD, its of absolutely no help. I still get what jman was getting...ive uninstalled and reinstalled .net framework...running w7 Ult x64..tried on an x32 version too. Tried the reset..tried uninstall and reinstall..tried absolutely everything I can think of. Only got one "server unavailable" error response on one of my reinstalls..after that, no response, no nuthin'! Anyone have any suggestions before it becomes the paperweight I think its doomed to be?

Anyone have a link for the download, I tried the one posted and it went no where???  I lost the cd but till my pc got infected the weather station was working great.

I was also having issues,

on the transmitter (USB),  under the batter door, there is a small hole to reset using a paper clip. No mention in the instructions.

 I unplugged the usb connection,

I removed then reinstalled the batteries,

tthen pressed a paper clip in the hole  for 5 seconds, then plugged back in to the USB.

I, too, am having some very frustrating issues with this device.

Luckily for me, I only paid $10.00 for it since it was an open box / as is at Bed, Bath & Beyond (still had the plastic film on it, manual, CD, etc.)....unfortunately for me, I can't return it.

I can't seem to get the PC software to retain my city (for even a second...once I hit "Save" it closes that pop-up window and plays dumb).

The Unit itself does seem to know what day it is...and after about 30 minutes, just displayed the date and time (5 hours ahead)) in the "Update" box....however that is the only thing on the display, and the "RF" bars are still blinking.

The thing that confuses me (among many things) is that how can the Unit know what day and time it is when the only way it has of getting information is wirelessly, but the "RF" icon is continually blinking signifying that it can't find the USB transmitter?

I've tried entering multiple cities and it won't save any of them.

I don't know about you guys, but my PC software won't even display the information there (probably because it forgets what city I input).

Any suggestions?

I'd really like to see this thing work. It seems like such a great idea, but in looking on the Internet for solutions, I'm finding ALOT of people who have chalked this up to a pretty paperweight.

I actually remember reading a comment from a lady who bought one for her dad. They set it up and she says it works great. Wonder what she did, or if her feedback was really a plant from the company.

Quick question, does your USB transmitter blink red every once in awhile?

Mine seems to do that, but nothing else. When I first plugged the unit it I got a red blink, then a green blink...then no lights. Now I get a red blink about every 20-30 seconds.

Any suggestions would be great.
