I am also in need of an update on this matter, although I already know that we won't get one.
It is unfortunate, but Microsoft will not deliver on this promise. They are in the business of money making and now days they have forgotten us PC Gamers that are still around. Now they have their damned beloved X360 they only release new Windows for money
making purposes and the early release of Windows Vista shows this.
It was quite possibly the worst operating system I had ever had the misfortune to use and I have used some very early versions of UNIX. Sadly I own an X360 (Currently on my sixth... Which for the record the previous 5 all died in the SAME YEAR) and was
stupid enough to buy this Microsoft Wireless Wheel for both platforms.
As far as drivers go...You'll never see a new driver released... Don't expect anyone from Microsoft to help you... I hate to say it especially on their own site but they couldn't give a rats *$!( about us and if you've EVER dealt with Microsoft before
you'll know thats true.
From the cut-throat "Give me your money and I'll give you the world" attitude to the complete effing morons they hire in their support centres and call centres.
And this is also the reason that we are seeing various other operating systems enter the market and some of the are actually becoming more popular. You could say that Microsoft have neglected one of their biggest bases... The PC gaming crowd...
The most honest advice I can give you guys would be.
Buy a PS3 as it supports multiple wheels, and don't buy any Microsoft accessories. I can even link you a driver for the PS3 SixAxis controller to work on Windows/Linux etc so you don't need to use Microsofts Xbox Controller for Windows kit. I hope to be
proven wrong, but lets face it... (I'm not a PS3 fanboy...In fact I hate the console but at least Sony have allowed proper third party controller support etc...)
We are dealing with Microsoft here...Why would they care about the little people?
I've said my piece.
Now on the techie side of things, due to the make-up of the Wireless Wheel & Xbox 360 controller I think you'll find that FFB support is an impossiblity. As someone else pointed out both pedles can't be used at once due to the fact that they work on the
same axis. This is because the Wireless Wheel IS a Xbox 360 controller in a bigger case and some games don't support XInput properly. This is partially third party supports fault and partially Microsofts complete ignorence. As this is the case I think it'll
be a cold day in ____ before we see support for FFB
I hope this helps clear a little up for everyone here, I also hope those useless ba$tards at Microsoft's Public Relations Department read this. If you are reading this Microsoft's PR chaps...Call me...Hire me...I'll do a LOT better job than your current
lot.
We need Blunt & Firm information over molly coddling and giving false promises. People want the truth even if it's bad rather than being strung along like a bunch of F***TARDS. So get off your lazy a**s and do yer goddamn job
that your paid so much for before I actually start getting angry and FIRE YOU MYSELF... A MONKEY could give us the ____ anwsers we have been after and to string along these people we sweet F**K all reply is a goddamn joke.
Expect this to appear on my various blogs as well...I'm also going to write up an article myself and send it to Eurogamer/IGN/CVG/Gamespot/AusG etc and it won't be limited to this issue.
Christ....You'd think these guys were either on strike or underpaid.
@AJAY K - How in the ____ did you get into Microsoft Support if that was your reply and you failed to check in on the situation? Surely MS don't just hire any moron? Get of your ____ and do your job!
I refuse to read any of AJAY K's other support posts in fear that I may NERD RAGE so hard that I could very well BLEED OUT... And I expect every anwser to be "Have you turned it off and on again?"...
