Force Feedback on Xbox 360 Racing Wheel using Wireless Gaming Reciever in Windows 7

I am trying to use my Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel in Windows 7 using the Wireless Gaming Receiver to connect it to my PC.

It connects fine and I can use the wheel in games, but I'm not getting any force feedback and I don't see it mentioned in the device configuration in the control panel.

This page: http://www.xbox.com/en-gb/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/ specifies that the wheel should have drivers available for Windows Vista in the future (I am guessing this page is well out of date) with force feedback but I can't find mention of these drivers anywhere.

Technically, this is a Windows 7 Driver Support question on when then Wireless Gaming Receiver drivers will be updated to provide force feedback support as was promised in the URL the previous poster provided.

I to would be interested in if this work is progressing.  If it has been cancelled you may wish to notify marketing and get them to update the page in question.

Cheers.

Seriously this is just stupid, just release the damn driver and your customers are happy.

I was just browsing again to see if this issue ever got resolved.

This is why I didn't buy a Xbox One. And will not ever buy another Microsoft console.   I thought I was picking a PC friendly console and peripherals being that it is Microsoft.

It is a really nice wheel, it's just a shame.

It seems entirely possible to add force feedback support on PC, I think Xinput on PC only supports two rumble motors so they'd have to update the API or replace it altogether to add support for force feedback. And agreed, it does seem like false or misleading representation. Its sucks owning this wheel and not being able to use it properly on PC or at all on Xbox One now that the Xbox 360 is being phased out.

    Ah ha! And... Oops !

Not having used this wheel I did mix and match the two features, even though the controller

    does not have force feedback.

(My excuse is because there have been threads about no vibration with the controller as well.)

    • Yes, of course, you should be able to feel and adjust what Logi call damper, and centring,

as well as vibration, if MS advertises that capability.

Without feedback a wheel would be a pointless gimmick.

Looks like more people should be complaining to the consumer protection agency in their country

about false or misleading advertising, and demanding money back.

It is a wonder that the wheel has force feedback with the console, but not on PC though.

    @BossDweebe

Well the wheel 'work's - as in you can steer left and right and use the buttons and pedals.  But there is no force feedback (as in turning forces applied to the wheel - distinctly different to simple pad rumble effects, which is what I think you are referring to)

Without the force feedback drivers the wheel is essentially pointless, and doesn't meet the promises made by MS when it was originally sold.
