Force Feedback on Xbox 360 Racing Wheel using Wireless Gaming Reciever in Windows 7

I am trying to use my Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel in Windows 7 using the Wireless Gaming Receiver to connect it to my PC.

It connects fine and I can use the wheel in games, but I'm not getting any force feedback and I don't see it mentioned in the device configuration in the control panel.

This page: http://www.xbox.com/en-gb/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/ specifies that the wheel should have drivers available for Windows Vista in the future (I am guessing this page is well out of date) with force feedback but I can't find mention of these drivers anywhere.

Technically, this is a Windows 7 Driver Support question on when then Wireless Gaming Receiver drivers will be updated to provide force feedback support as was promised in the URL the previous poster provided.

I to would be interested in if this work is progressing.  If it has been cancelled you may wish to notify marketing and get them to update the page in question.

Cheers.

Wow I've read this whole forum and am amazed that this issue even got as far as the ACCC. Well MJW74, I would think this is a fitting conclusion to this issue, and a clear answer in itself. Its too bad but it seems like the ACCC only deals with large scale issues, and this problem may only be solved if every single person who has this problem files a complaint. I don't have the wireless receiver to connect to PC but this forum has saved me $15. I guess large companies can lie if not enough people give a ****.

For all of you who are using this wheel with Windows Vista or 7, have you had any problem with the X-axis calibration? I'm trying to play NFS - The Run with this wheel and it's impossible because you have to turn the whell almost more than 180º to get a decent turn... it's unusable.

I've tried to calibrate it, with no luck, the behavior is the same after calibrating the wheel in windows.

    Cheers!

OK, I have received a response from the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission). They have indicated that they do not act on individual complaints but they do track situations where there are multiple complaints and may take action.

They have suggested that I try to resolve the issue directly with Microsoft through verbal or written channels. If that fails, they suggest I make a claim through the small claims tribunal of the Department of Fair Trading. I'm not going to bother with this because I know longer use my Microsoft wheel. Now I have a Logitech G27, which has 100% functioning force feedback and Windows 7 drivers.

I do suggest that any other Aussies subscribed to this thread, make a complaint to the ACCC. Here's the link to lodge a complaint online:

    http://www.accc.gov.au/content/maintain/create/index.phtml?contentTypeItemId=9133&informationSpaceItemId=268347&inPop=1&returnUrl=.&type=Other

Maybe if the ACCC receive enough complaints, they may act. The email response that I received ends with:

"ACCC staff make decisions on which matters will be investigated further based on the ACCC’s Compliance and Enforcement policy. A number of factors are weighed including whether conduct raises national or international issues, involves significant consumer detriment or a blatant disregard of the law."
