I click "Address a problem with NVIDIA graphics driver" and it says "This solution could not be downloaded".

I too am suffering from everyone else is describing here.  This started in late May.  This happened with the previous and current versions of the NVidia Driver.  I too am using 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium.  My problem has now escalated as Windows is now booting into a 640 x 480 mode.  When I checked the Device Manger the listing for my NVidia GeForce 8800 GTS; I receive:  "Device Status: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".

I tried removing and re-installing the NVidia drivers with no luck.  I notice that the graphics card is doing something odd during the boot: the screen has turned to gibberish.  The ASUS motherboard logo has disappeared.  The computer is almost unusable in this situation.

When doing a search on nvlddmkm.sys there are a ton of people all offering a multitude of solutions for this problem.  It is odd how different they are: 

Don't overclock your system (I don't)

Use only one stick of memory (???)

Remove update KB952287 (I never had it)

Remove un-necessary power from mother board (I have no extra cards installed), etc.

One thing I have not seen here is a solution for this problem.  Why if it is showing up on so many system has it not been addressed.

I too am having the same problem BUT my problem is that the unexpected shutdown causes it. I had sleep mode set to activate after 1 hour of idle time and thats when I got the blue screens and warnings. I now use hibernate which was hard to find but i am no longer getting the warnings and blue screens. I was also getting the same info about not being able to connect and when I finally went to NVIDIAS site to upload the latest driver it said I was up to date. It seems that the power saver settings clash with NVIDIA. If anyone gets more info on this particular problem I would love to investigate it. I have limited computer knowledge and this is as far as I can get on this problem.

as from above after reading through all that junk,.. its been crashing since about 5/10/2010, windows update, and driver release update. i check for updates once a week and it caught me there,.. i play on games like World of Warcraft (havent noticed it much there), Left4Dead2 (crashes within 5-10 mins freezes and noise polution, and Borderlands, (strangely enough it kills sound and looks like people are shooting 5billion bullets per shot =.=)

im not going to bother listing the dxdiag and dmb files since theres been no response to the people that have been listing them, id rather see what their fixes are before making this page any longer to read through.

ill give it til the end of tonight then ill be trying a rollback on my entire system to a date before 5/10. then ill be calling microsofts solution center for the next 268 hours =.=

i have to run basic tasks such as replying to this message in safe mode just from fear of it crashing for loading a program...

any solutions or temporary fixes at this point would be a blessing.

After reading a few other threads on crashing and freezing and ballistics gone mad, ive noticed the one keyword all the other people are using,...

64-bit

i originally had my computer on win-7 32-bit, never a care in the word, nothing crashed nothing froze over, no problems (later on in my hard drive crashed beyond repair, so i was given the opportunity to upgrade to win-7 64-bit, i read forums after forums telling me that its basically the same with a few changes to memory usage etc. so i took it upgraded to 64 bit.  for the first month or two i didnt notice anything different, until the 2nd month where i swear it seemed as if my computer was now running games "Slower" than it was on 32 bit, which i assumed it would have been faster.  i didnt think much of it and just continued through the month ignore the occasional flicker.

Now i am in month 3 and i started recieving random crashes with in games (left4dead2) where the game would freeze and random sounds flooded out of my speakers., alt tabbing doesnt get you out of it, u can rather control alt delete, open processes and disable it in processes, or once processes is open right click its tab at teh bottom and click close.

now i am getting a crash on everything i use, run a game crashes in 5 mins, run a video from the cd drive, crashes in 5 mins, load up any kind of internet surfer, explorer,chrome,firefox, mozilla, all crash in a few minutes after using them.

Spent my last 10 huors going through posts after posts after replies after paragraphs in every help trouble shoot site i can find for windows, and nvidia.  Thus i am here.  (typing on a labtop not having this issue since its 32 bit vista)

Thus the problem solution i am starting to come aroudn too, isnt your drivers, its not your monitor, not the motherboard, not your ram or any programs your using,.. the problem is Windows 7's 64-bit operating system, 

yes ive seen all the commercials and trailers, win 7 thats my idea, its wonderful its great, its fast and easy to use, blah blah blah, you know why they dont show a commercial of a gamer using any of the new windows, cuz hed be on there cussing at it throwing keyboards against the walls and telling you to stick with windows xp!

So your solution isnt going to be a anytime near the future fix. its too virgin of an operating system, you can rather a) if you have the full win 7 disc, reformat into 32 bit, or switch to vista 32 bit, or switch in anything works xp.

Wow, you installed it and you traveled to the future! Kidding aside, I am having the same issue, why can't the solution be downloaded?
