That is a Direct X 11 issue. Try reinstalling DX from the install media.

If your system is just starting to crash, I would first ask what has changed. Dont say nothing, cause if nothing has changed, then that would mean you are not useing your computer at all and have not powered it on at all. What hardware do you hvae, what has changed, how long have you been running on that Windows install? That would be int first information I would want to know.

    Hi guys,

was looking for the same answer and found quite a solution about six months ago. But this was about deleting some videos and adding some *.dll to the game folder.  To be very honest the game was running ok but froze down from time to time and the opening video sequence had been gone forever. However the game was playable but was necessary to save frequently. Of course i read a lot of articles and answers explaining the graphic´s cards properties CPU´s frequency etc. In the end i can´t miss the compactability changes. None of them were the right hint. And of course the steam and non-stem players ... watch your folders carefuly ... huh !

However it came up to my mind to reinstall entire system one day and after installing all the drivers, utilities etc i installed F3 (no steam).

Here goes my setup and the 5 simply steps change /just checkouts/ i made to work it prperly:

    Intel Core i7 2.66 GHz

ATI - Radeon 5800 series (no changes made after installing updated driver)

    12 Gb DDR

    Win 7 Ultimate x64

I send a shortcut directely from the game folder to my desktop. In Properties/Compactibility i marked out following:

1/ resolution 640×480 (but i don´t think this is necessary)

    2/ disable motives

    3/ disable desktop composition

4/ run this program as the administrator / all users

5/ run under win XP SP 3  (but i don´t think this is necessary)

I´m pretty sure this will make you happy to run F3 under your WIN 7 even if you´re running your system for longer time. And if not this could be the way to find some better and easier solution than deleting and rewritting the video and system files.

    Good luck!

    Thomy
