XP will not restore active desktop

Hello rghaynes_710, welcome.

I would attempt to delete and recreate the active desktop. If that does not work, perhaps the content on the website itself is having technical problems.

You can also attempt to reset Internet Explorer back to defaults to see if that resolves the issue.

  1. Click START
  2. Click 'Control Panel'
  3. Double click 'Internet Options'
  4. Click on the 'Advanced' tab and select 'Reset...' at the very bottom of the Window
  5. Restart your computer

    NightHawk02, I recently came across the same problem that you gave the solution to Ryan and I tried your solution and it works like a charm. Without sounding too much like a sycophant, how in the world did you get so smart? I'm serious I would love to be able to gain the knowledge you apparently have, but I have no idea where I would start? Do you have any suggestions for me? I realize that some knowledge just comes from trial and error, but you still need some basic knowledge to know where to start. Are there any books that you would recommend or did you get your experience at school? I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you for your time.
