While Windows 7 works and looks good, there is one major issue which threatens to derail the entire experience for me.
Several times a day, the default gateway becomes unavailable, which means that the PC running Windows 7 loses internet connectivity. At the same time, other PCs, running Vista, are continuing to work normally. This includes one PC with a WiFi connection and another which is normally wired.

The problem is solved by manually having to repair the problem when Windows 7 finds that the default gateway is not avaialble and resets network controller 2.
I have seen that this is not an isolated with several reports on the net, some suggesting that a different driver might help, but which one? Any suggestions?

It's one of many known nVidia issues with Windows 7 that nVidia must correct, unfortuniately Microsoft has nothing to do with it. I would sugguest that you contact nVidia for assistance.

I was having the same problem.
For me it turned out to be a modem issue. When I got my new laptop (with Windows 7) we had an all-in-one type wireless modem with the PC downstairs. After calling our local Internet provider looking for help we were sent a modem with a separate router. It's worked perfectly since.
Sorry for lack of technical language... I'm good at using computers, not making them work.
This has fixed the "default gateway not available" issue - Win 7 x64
Open Device manager
For each controller under "Network adapters" right-mouse click and select "Uninstall"
Select "Computer", right-mouse click and select "Scan for hardware changes"
The controllers will be re-installed. After this I am able for the first time after upgrading to windows 7 to view streaming video longer than 5-30 seconds in length. Similar to "roll back the driver" because of the install, but why roll back when re-installing works.

"Device manager" can be found from "Start->Help & Support" then type in device manager and click on the links to open it.
