While Windows 7 works and looks good, there is one major issue which threatens to derail the entire experience for me.
Several times a day, the default gateway becomes unavailable, which means that the PC running Windows 7 loses internet connectivity. At the same time, other PCs, running Vista, are continuing to work normally. This includes one PC with a WiFi connection and another which is normally wired.
The details of my network controllers (there are two) are as follows.

The problem is solved by manually having to repair the problem when Windows 7 finds that the default gateway is not avaialble and resets network controller 2.
I have seen that this is not an isolated with several reports on the net, some suggesting that a different driver might help, but which one? Any suggestions?

It's one of many known nVidia issues with Windows 7 that nVidia must correct, unfortuniately Microsoft has nothing to do with it. I would sugguest that you contact nVidia for assistance.

Have you tried delaying the start of bonjour, it really worked for me.
Go to Control panel ... then administrative options.Then "services".Scroll down and find a service named "Bonjour service". double click on this service, then disable it. Now choose "automatic (delated start)".Click OK then close everything and reboot, when you do, your network and internet connection should be fine.Takes a lot to explain the problem but it is a service created by Apple that is commonly used in several applications to get your network card to configure itselfautomatically to work with certain services. It does not play well with windows services as a rule, and delaying the auto start gives the windows services time to start prior to its activation at reboot.Hope this helps!
Having the same problem, disconnects randomly throughout the day and says the default gateway is not available.
After resetting (disable, enable) it works fine.
However I do not have anything Nvidia, so it can't be related to that.
I have the same problem - but it is NOT limited to nvidia - i went so far as to by a new card to bypass possible "nivida only" issues. My new card does the same thing, so please MS dont foist the problem off on nvidia. And yes, i have the latest Win7 64 bit drivers for the card, i am not using bonjour at all, i unchecked ipv6 (listed on another board as a possible problem), and my internet provider went so far as to give me a new Motorola SBV5222 cable modem, and i have win7 64 bit drivers for that too. power management for the card is set to "never sleep", and the vista drivers did the same thing as the win7 ones - "default gateway not available", reset the card and i works for an hour or 2. i've been on 5 or 6 different forums looking for a fix, and no solutions yet.
I doubt that there were NO drivers installed for the dual Nvidia network devices. Windows 7 would have installed it's defaults.
More than likely they got disabled somehow.
You need to go to Nvidia's website and download the new Nforce WINDOWS 7 .inf files (NOT vista) for your particular MB if it has an Nvidia chip.
But, that is probably not the solution to everyones problem here, anyway.
