default gateway not available in windows 7

G'day,

While Windows 7 works and looks good, there is one major issue which threatens to derail the entire experience for me.

Several times a day, the default gateway becomes unavailable, which means that the PC running Windows 7 loses internet connectivity. At the same time, other PCs, running Vista, are continuing to work normally. This includes one PC with a WiFi connection and another which is normally wired.

The details of my network controllers (there are two) are as follows.

The problem is solved by manually having to repair the problem when Windows 7 finds that the default gateway is not avaialble and resets network controller 2.

I have seen that this is not an isolated with several reports on the net, some suggesting that a different driver might help, but which one? Any suggestions?

It's one of many known nVidia issues with Windows 7 that nVidia must correct, unfortuniately Microsoft has nothing to do with it. I would sugguest that you contact nVidia for assistance.

i also have an Intel(R) PRO/1000 PM Network Connection (integrated to Mobo)

I tried every "fix" and it doesn't help..

PLUS: Intel announce that they will not support and add new updates for my mobo anymore, Intel D945GNT.

I used their Update Check, and no drive are available for any drivers for Windows 7.

My question is: What if I buy a PCI NIC, like the Rosewill RC 400.which support Windows 7, will this permanently 100% fix the problem?

if Not: then this will be the last day I'm gonna read this forum, tired of this ____, then I will *upgarde * it back to XP.... YEAH... Since Vista,.. Xp is more like an Upgrade...

Yeah I am not sure if the problem is fixed now for sure or not but I did the bonjour service fix and about 10 min later it went out... I reset it and it hasn't gone out yet so I am not sure it is a total fix... I will let everyone know if it is though.

Ok i have read this whole forum and I have tried all the solutions expect installing the default drivers. None of them seemed to work. This problem has been going on sense i installed Windows 7. It first started just streaming video and i would loose it occasionally loose it but now over the past week it has started happening multiple times a day.

I have downloaded updates and searched on the internet but still have not fixed the problem. If anyone could help me fix this I would appreciate it.
