While Windows 7 works and looks good, there is one major issue which threatens to derail the entire experience for me.
Several times a day, the default gateway becomes unavailable, which means that the PC running Windows 7 loses internet connectivity. At the same time, other PCs, running Vista, are continuing to work normally. This includes one PC with a WiFi connection and another which is normally wired.
The details of my network controllers (there are two) are as follows.

The problem is solved by manually having to repair the problem when Windows 7 finds that the default gateway is not avaialble and resets network controller 2.
I have seen that this is not an isolated with several reports on the net, some suggesting that a different driver might help, but which one? Any suggestions?

It's one of many known nVidia issues with Windows 7 that nVidia must correct, unfortuniately Microsoft has nothing to do with it. I would sugguest that you contact nVidia for assistance.

As an interesting side note,
Didn't have this problem (integrated nvidia nic here aswell, 680i sli chipset) untill i got my NAS drive set back up. The problem only accures when the network load gets beyond 8Mb/s which is interesting enough as it is :) This is with win7 rtm.
I've had the same issue as George, and it's becoming increasingly frustrating. I did not use the RC or beta of 7, I continued using Vista Ultimate up until 7 became available on MS Technet. I never had this problem with Vista, and I'm using the most up-to-date drivers available for my integrated NIC. It seems pretty random when Windows loses the default gateway and needs to reset the adapter to reconnect. Like George, this is the only problem I've experienced with 7 so far, but it's definitely making me wish I had stuck with Vista (with which I had no problems at all). Any fix for this issue would be highly appreciated.
While that may be true, it is nVidia that is responsible for putting out compatible drivers and software for operating systems, not Microsoft's

Are you affiliated with or work for Microsoft? If so maybe you can explain to me how the OP is using a Microsoft provided driver, yet he has to wait for NVIDIA to "put out compatible drivers and software". Why wouldn't MS support something they have provided?
If you don't, then how can you speak to who is responsible for what?
Well its now August 9th and the problem is as bad as ever ... we will either have to stay away from Windows 7 or make sure that new PCs do not have motherboards with nVidia controllers on them ...
