Teredo tunneling pseudo interface shows a yellow exlamation mark in Device Manager. Windows 7 Ultmate 64

I have just completed a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on my system and all is well except for a yellow exclamation mark showing in Device Manager under "Network adapters" and against the item "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" 

Looking under the properties for this device shows "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

I haven't got any idea on what this device is or does.

Could someone please advise on this problem.

First thing I would like to suggest you is to uninstall and reinstall the device from device manager and verify if the yellow exclamation mark disappears.

You can also try updating your network driver by following these steps:

  • Right click the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
  • Update Driver Software...
  • Browse my computer for driver software
  • Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
  • Select from the list and update the driver.

Also you may get this mark because the network adapter may not be compatible with Windows 7. Request you to contact the manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver/adaptor that is compatible with Windows 7.

    So that key on your system seems not to be correct.

    Restartiing the computer should rebuild a proper key so something may be interfering.

    Can you restart the computer in "Safe Mode with Networking" and then see if the "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" still shows a yellow exlamation mark in Device Manager?

    Can you export the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\tunnelThen right-click the resulting .reg file and select "Edit"

    Can you then copy and paste the contents of the .reg file to a post in this thread?

    Driver details says "tunnel.sys"...you will be able to fid it is you search for that name.
